Executive Summary
Vocational Resource Center (VRC) is a private for profit CARF accredited vocational rehabilitation agency dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities find and maintain competitive employment. The mission of Vocational Resource Center is to assist individuals with disabilities to become self-sufficient. We strive to provide extraordinary solutions for extraordinary people by seeing beyond limitations, offering guidance, connecting resources and mapping actions that produce positive employment outcomes. Our goal is to partner with individuals, rehabilitation team members and community resources for the purpose of impacting vocational outcomes, effecting suitable employment, and enhancing independence and quality of life.
Vocational Resource Center has acquired a reputation for effective, professional and cost efficient delivery of services. Currently VRC provides a full range of vocational services including employment services, vocational evaluation and assessment, transferable skills analysis, case management and training services to the Ohio Rehabilitation Service Commission (ORSC), Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC), and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
Vocational Resource Center services both Northwest and Northeast Ohio to include Ashtabula, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Summit, Trumbull, Lorain, and Sandusky Counties. VRC offers a wide variety of programs geared to meet the vocational needs of all clients regardless of education, experience or skill level. Services are designed and implemented on an individualized basis with consideration and emphasis on strengths, values, interests and limitations. The diversely qualified staff is creative, caring and energetic in their approach to the job search and rehabilitation process.
Vocational Resource Center is a community-based organization and meets both persons served and referring counselors at locations convenient to them. The mobility and flexibility of VRC staff facilitate easy access for persons served and referral sources. This also promotes an excellent working relationship that supports positive outcomes for both organizations and consumers.
Our rehabilitation professionals have been trained in diverse orientations, allowing for an equally diverse approach to our vocational services. Professional staff members employ generally accepted methodologies for all assessments and counseling practices and are required to demonstrate ongoing professional competencies. Vocational Resource Center’s strengths include a professionally trained friendly staff; a clear vision of the market needs; a strong reputation for achieving results with current referral sources; an understanding of the current labor market and a large professional network of employers.
